Dr. Mark Posey spent 12 years in the public school system working with all areas of special needs .including parents of children with special needs and many agencies that served as resources for those parents. His expertise in the area of assessment and its translation into practical use for teacher, parents and other professionals.
Dr. Posey is currently completing his 14th year of conducting assessments and offering consultation to parents and school personnel on a wide variety ages and disabilities at the USC School of Medicine. He works in the Department of pediatrics as an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and acts as a liaison between assessment results and a child’s school programming.
For the past 25 years he has spoken to countless parent group, teacher groups, social workers, school counselors, nurses, medical students. Medical residents, physicians, school administrators, and school psychologists on issue of discipline, classroom environment issues and the needs of children with special needs. He is married and has four children age 10-14 years. He is a Past-President of the South Carolina Association of school Psychologists, the Director of the Development Pediatric Clinic, and the Program Director of the Dunbar ADHD Program. His clinical interests are ADHD, children and mood disorders, autism, and children with intellectual disabilities.
